Need to restore call logs from backups, but do not want to lose current system.

Is there a way I can spin up another instance and restore the backup to that machine in order to run a report. Then shut it back off?
I do not want to loose my current instance!

Why would you not run the report on your main instance?

The second you setup a second one, it will be a problem for the license.

The data is no longer on my instance. I need data > 6 months old which is only on backup.

Is there a file I can restore that would provide call log data? i.e a csv?
