Hi All

We have an on-premiss 3cx box running Windows Server 2016 and .NET V4.0303, 3cx V18 latest release and Windows asking me to upgrade this and I think we should run the latest version we can.

After reading a few issues with this on the forum, I just wondered if there is a guide to best practice to upgrade and what version people have 3cx running on.

Any advice would be great

Many thanks

Richard

Today, 3CX is written in .Net Core, rather than the old .Net Framework. So, the correct question to ask is "what version of .Net is needed"? I assume 3CX is, as part of the install, asking you to install a specific version of .Net. The best practice is to install the version being requested.

When you build .Net applications, it is built/compiled with a specific version of .Net. A newer version of .Net may be backward compatible with slightly older versions of .Net, but I would not make that assumption. The safest thing to do is install the version of .Net being requested by the 3CX installer.
