It have very old CPU. We usually use intel nuc or the Asus Mini PC with the pentium J5005 or the celeron N4100 and 128gb SSD and it have 2 or 3 year of warranty for less money.

Or you can grab one of these, which comes with a wall mount, has the exact same specs, EXCEPT, it has far better Crypto performance, and a forged housing which dissipates heat over the entire chassis, and all you do is boot the 3CX ISO from a USB CD-ROM Drive. We use them. Readily available on Amazon, and cheaper.

Hello 3CX Community,

I run the Cisco IP Telephony environment for an organization with approx. 500 staff. We have the usual mess of 12 VMs for doing basic IPT services that 3CX will do in one VM - AND 3CX will provide us web based chat, web conferencing, audio recording and I'm sure I've left out a few other features.

My question is - I think I want to run the LINUX platform on a stand alone server vs having it run in a VM in our virtualization stack which has hundreds of other VMs and a storage appliance. My though it I have a greater chance of isolating performance issues if I run it on a stand along server.

Would the NUCs described in this thread be able to support 400 phones with approx 40-50 simultaneous calls?

After making my career in Cisco IPT for 20 years, I'm putting together a proposal to submit to my CEO to migrate away from Cisco to 3CX. I first looked at 3CX in the 2006 timeframe and how time has flown by. Just like we ditched CenturyLink and are now running our SIP trunks over Flowroute - I'm convinced more and more enterprise Cisco IPT shops will ditch their CUCM environment and go the 3CX route.

However i STRONGLY recommend you just build the Linux VM on your virtualization platform as this is far easier to manage, add resources to, etc.... did i mention i STRONGLY recommend this, especially since you have such a virtualization platform in place it just makes it easier, cheaper, better...
