New phones in 3CX

How do we identify extension for the new pones in the 3CX system, If someone is using them from the Windows application and them show up in the admin portal under phones as new.
They have got IP but no name and Extension in the details.

Are you seeing "Windows Application" in bold in the phones list? Perhaps you could send a screenshot of what the problem you're encountering is?

These devices are coming as App for windows, But I am not sure who the users are and not sure which extension should I assign them unless I know their identity.
Is there any way to find out user details and then I can assign existing extension to their Windows app?

Hi @ayyazrehan,

You'll need to find the users based on their IPs. Then you can assign the App for Windows to their extensions respectively.

Yes thats what I did, Did NSLOOKUP on the Ip address and tracked it to the last user that logged on to the device.
That gave me details of the user. Just wanted to know if there is any better way of doing it.

The IP and the MAC address is the only information available to determine the PC and therefore the user in this case. So using any of the two to track down the user, as you have done, is the only way.
