Solved New PWA Client - how to install on a Mac?

Firstly 3CX, what is the 'supported' client for MacOS please? I have 2 Mac-only customers who have no idea what they should be doing at the moment.

I have applied the relevant update to our own 3CX but I am not getting the Installer icon as per https://www.3cx.com/user-manual/web-client/#h.85vdwzu7eh2a on Chrome.latest on MacOS 10.15.7

Am I missing something? Given that the installer icon appears from the manual to be in the Chrome toolbar, what is it that puts it there?

Hi @orange2,

Your MacOS users have 3 options for now, and a 4th on the way:

For non-Windows or Mac-only users, the options are:

1. The 3CX WebClient via your Browser.
2. The Dialer browser plugin: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/3cx/dijllljhgnommpcoogbfcnadmnleeook
(not recommended though as will be EOL June 2022 at the very latest) and
3. The new PWA: https://www.3cx.com/blog/releases/web-client-pwa/ (follow the guide!)

BONUS:

4. The Mac Client (in development and coming soon).

Thanks Vasilis, but the guide for the PWA client differs from my experience! The Install button does not appear. I've also tested in a virgin install of Edge Mac and it doesn't appear there either! Also I feel the guide should be amended to add Mac screenshots as well as the Windows ones as the 2 differ, and after all, guides are meant to be idiot-proof!

Can you send me a screenshot of what you see in Chrome when logged in to the Web Client so I can see what is missing?

Can you log in with the FQDN and see if it shows up instead of using the IP?

Yes that worked thanks v much. Had to edit the hosts file to enable URL login. Can I have multiple PWA's 'installed'? I have extensions at 2 customers also.

I've just experimented and it CAN be installed for 3 different 3CX systems. Excellent!
