Trying to connect a new Snom D735 phone, but it does not appear in PHONES list (using PnP method).

  • 3cx v16 in same subnet as phones (10.3.80.0/24)
  • This new phone did appear yesterday and it was automatically configured for an extension - all perfect!
  • But then it required a firmware update - so update was applied (snomD735-SIP 10.1.37.11)
  • Then phone was reset to default using **## method
  • Now it won't appear in the PHONE list ready to be assigned to Ext
  • User extension previously created for this phone has now been deleted.
  • Phone has been reset several times.
  • Phone's IP is definitely on correct subnet
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Phone has already be assigned to extension , so surely extension already know his mac adress and don't consider phone as a new one so it don't appears in bold.

Is it provisionning since firmware update?

have you tried a complete on /off and not just a phone reboot

Thanks for your quick replies.

  • Snom phone was rebooted several times, sometimes by removing Ethernet cable (and its PoE power source)
  • User extension for this phone was also deleted to make sure that MAC address of phone wasn't been 'remembered'.
  • my laptop is configured on same subnet as 3CX server and phones, and can ping both devices.
  • no entries under Security>Blacklisted IPs
  • Snom phone hasn't been provisioned since firmware update

What I'll do now if I was you,

  1. Restart 3CX services on MC
  2. Delete extension if always existant
  3. factory reset the Snom once more
  4. power off phone
  5. create a new extension with nothing else than number and user name
  6. Replug the phone
  7. Check if seen in bold , if so , assign it to new extension previously created
  8. complete details if needed in extension
Other detail did you refresh browser cache ?

That's it!

Thanks for your help. I'm not sure which of those steps resolved the problem, but I suspect it was the 3CX server restart - the whole server and not just the services.
After resetting the phone again, it now appears in the PHONE list in bold.

Thanks again.

What build version of 3CX are you running - latest is 16.0.2.910

Well done ;)
