We have been using 3CX in our office for about a year now.
We have a small customer we want to test it out with.
When setting them in the Partner Portal, I guess we register their info under "add Trial".
Question is, when we setup the name, we already have a mycompanyvoip.wa.3cx.us. Do we use that name for the customer or do we create a new separate one for them.
We will still manage the account for them to help them, just not sure what to start with.
Thanks

@TownTech, to correctly register a subscription, ¨Add Trial¨ and register the subscription with a unique email address.
The company name should be set (in this case) as per your agreement with the customer, and it can be changed at any time in the 3CX portal while logged in with the currently registered email:
  1. Access My Systems and locate the system you need to adjust the name for.
  2. Click Manage to open Registration details.
  3. Change the company name as required and click Save.

Can I use my SIP Trunk name and add the new number for the customer under that or do I need to create a new trunk name for every customer I have?

Can you please clarify, are you trying to add this customer to the existing system which is your 3CX installation?

I created a new account for them using the cloud installation, I am just trying to manage everything in one interface. not sure if that's possible or I need to set them up on their own sip account from the trunk provider

Depending on what is required and what you agree with the customer.
Who will be managing the SIP Trunk account?
You can see customers linked to your partner account in the partner portal.
To manage customers' systems, you need administrative access to their system admin/management console.

I would recommend getting in touch with your account manager to discuss the options you have as a partner regarding the management of your customer's accounts and systems. You can find contact details in the dashboard.

need to set them up on their own sip account
Here in the US if you bill clients for voice then you need to file taxes for that, which I understand is both very onerous, and heavily fined if you don't file. I think there's an exception for passing it through at cost (?) but I suggest just have them pay for their own service.
already have a mycompanyvoip.wa.3cx.us
Each customer should have their own license and server hostname, and hence their own server. If you were thinking of sharing a server that would have a lot of pitfalls, such as backup/restore, conflicting extensions, transferring calls, contacts stored in 3CX, holidays, office hours, etc., etc.

Ok, talked to sales rep and I think I am ready to go.
Anyone know how to delete the FREE 3CX I started for the customer so I can start over. I want to sign them up for the PRO 3CX Hosted. Which seems like the right choice. They have 3 voice lines and 1 fax line.

You can delete 3CX Free from the portal while logging in with currently registered email address.
Access My Systems > find the 3CX Free you wish to delete > click Manage > Delete.

On that page for the customer, after I click Manage, The only options I have are, Renew, Upgrade, Unlink, and EULA and Save only if I make a type change on that page.

Are you logged in as you or them?

Only registered owner can delete system.
You can check which email address is used to create the system in your partner portal.

If I log in as me in my partner portal, I only have unlink and if I login as them in the webclient admin, I only have unlink

Log in as the customer at customer.3cx.com.
