NFR Key replacement

Good day,

Our license key is an 4SC NFR key. When I tried to add the 8SC NFR Key to increase extension count I get the following error: "NFR key cannot be used as a new license key". How should I proceed?

Hello, you can deploy a new system with your 8SC NFR, not upgrade your 4SC NFR.

Do I have to setup the system from scratch as the backups are linked to the key?
If I purchase a new 8SC Pro key, will I be able to activate that key on my current system?

Create a partial backup excluding the FQDN and license information: https://www.3cx.com/docs/backup-restore-command-line/

Then, install the 8SC license and restore the partial backup using an external storage server or a file-transfer tool.
