I am in the process of setting up a test installation of 3CX.

I am using a Softphone on Android for testing at this stage.

I can make and receive calls. Send number tones. but my audio is not getting to the PBX. For example I try to record a greeting and I can hear and respond to the PBX as normal but when I record my greeting no audio is recorded. No Audio is getting from the extension to the PBX.

I am using 3CX Server 16.0.2.910.
3CX Softphone 16.0.0.35
The extension is configured to use the Tunnel. (autoconfigured)
I have tested the extension with and without PBX delivers Audio.
3CX Firewall Checker shows all ports green.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,
can you hear yourself properly if you call *777

can you give details on what you do when you record a greeting? once recorded if you want to listen before validate you have no audio ? or is it after validation when you call your number you don't hear your greeting?

if so perhaps you need to check in MC on extension if greeting file is selected to be played otherwise it can be the cause you hear nothing, your file is recorded on PBX but no one use it.

Hi,

It's best to ensure first that the app can record audio from your Android in the app permissions (Microphone).

Then dial *777 echo test as mentioned above, and also dial *888 callback echo test to see that you have audio in both outgoing and incoming calls from Android<->PBX

Thank you both for assisting.

I have confirmed the app permissions. It has access to Microphone.
I record the greeting and then press 2 to hear it back. I hear nothing.
I tried calling *777 The first time I got a funny repetitive noise but no echo. I repeated 2 more time and got silence.
I called *888 and got the call back but again no audio/echo.

Regards

can you confirm if the firewall checker passes?

is the android phone on the same subnet as the PBX?

Firewall checker gives all greens.

PBX is hosted in the cloud. I am primarily located on an office network that is currently running handsets and SBC v16. I have also just tested off network (4g) with the same results.

Ok if everything works fine on the SBC side and you just have this problem on the Android client, I would recommend to provision a different Android device as a test, just to verify the issue not related to the specific model.

Can you also let us know what model and android version you are using?

So it appears as though the device may not have been picking up the ALLOW MICROPHONE setting.

I triple checked and even disabled and re-enabled but with no luck.

I uninstalled 3CX and reinstalled and all works ok.

FYI. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S9.Android V9.

Great news, glad this was resolved
