No RTP Packets on Linksys SPA941 external extension

Hi Guys,

I setup an external extension on our SPA941 connecting to our 3CX IP PBX. It connected to our 3CX but the problem is when external extension calls our internal extension, I can hear the voice of our external ext but the caller cannot hear my voice. And I cannot dial our external extension from our internal ext. Also on the Phone Status under SIP tab on our SPA941 external ext has no RTP Packets detected.

Anybody can help please?

Try to use the 3CX client as the external extension and see if the same issue remains or if it works.

Please also ensure that on the external extension settings, you have enabled the STUN server option.

I suggest that you do an ethereal capture from the 3cx machine to find out if it too is sending RTP to the (non routable)Private LAN IP . I am beginning to believe this is a bug in the resolution of IPs in 3cx, but I am looking for additional proof.

Of course it is probable that the LInksys and Cisco behave very similarly because Linksys is owned by Cisco
