I am running 3CX v18 update 3 on Windows 10 pro and I have an issue where I am not receiving emails when a voicemail is left.

I checked the email setting and the SMTP server, username, and password are correct. But when I tested the connection I received an error saying the connection was refused (See attached) I know that the port it asks for is open.

Is there anything else I need to check?

You either switch to 3CX's SMTP or troubleshoot your own custom SMTP server.

Obviously you're doing something wrong in either the set up or a firewall.

Obviously, I know something is wrong, that is why I made the post.

For your information, this setting has always worked through every version of 3CX that I have used up until recently.

If it was a configuration issue with v18 it would have appeared when I upgraded from v16 almost a year ago.

And I am waiting for an informative response from a professional ...obviously

You can start wireshark in 3cx (built in), login to 3cx with other browser and press send test mail, after it failed, in first browser stop wireshark and see that pcap file.

You said port tcp 587 is open, you can telnet to that port from 3cx machine? Connection is established?

I literally told you, your set up is wrong or its a firewall issue. Go and troubleshoot it.

You're using a custom SMTP server so the onus is on you to make sure you can reach it.

if it works with 3CX's SMTP then you need to do more investigation.

the fact it says in red "CANNOT REACH OUT ON PORT X" gives you a pretty good indication as to what the problem is.

If you are using Gmail for smtp, they recently disabled basic auth for smtp.
