I tried to resend the welcome email, nothing happened.
I've inspected my reports folder where notifications get auto-filed and they seem to have ceased, the last was on the 13th
I went to email settings and on clicking the test button I get

5.7.0 Denied

I don't have the option to set an alternative SMTP server.

Hello @Oliver Broad

When using the 3CX SMTP, the 5.7.0 Denied error usually occurs when the external IP address of the server is different than the IP address to which the FQDN resolves.

Thanks, it looks as if our public IP address has been changed without our knowledge.
We're paying for static IP though...

@Oliver Broad

Below are instructions on how to force the FQDN resolution to the new IP address, in case you are not able to obtain the previous one.

1. In the Management Console go to Settings > Network > Change the public IP to Dynamic and click OK to validate.
2. Go back to the Dashboard > Services > Restart the "3CX PhoneSystem 01 System Server" service
3. Wait until the PBX detects the new IP address, then go back to Settings > Network change the IP back to Static and set the correct IP in the field > Click OK to validate.
4. Go back to the Dashboard and restart the same service as before (3CX PhoneSystem 01 System Server).

Thanks, that basically worked though I still have to manually edit our SIP Trunk settings too as it is set to send our public IP in the header (makes sense) but it takes the value from an option not from the network setting.
Anyway that's about as fixed as it can be till I get to work and phone the SIP provider to get that updated.

Hi, I have V18.U8, and am trying to use the 3CX SMTP server, but I am getting the "5.7.0 Denied" message.

My 3CX fqdn (XXX.3cx.eu) is resolving to my external IP. What coud be the issue?

BR,
Jim

Check if the 3cx system machine also uses the same public IP address that the FQDN is mapped to.

Check if the 3cx system machine also uses the same public IP address that the FQDN is mapped to.
The system has an one IP, internal, that is mapped via our firewall to the external IP the fqdn resolves to.

If using the 3CX SMTP server check which external ip the machine that the 3CX system is installed on uses.

A 3CX system can use one public ip for its fqdn but the actual machine may be communicating from another.

The fqdn ip address and the public ip that the machine uses must match to use the 3cx smtp server.

the system has 1 IP (internal) and is mapped to an external IP. The external IP resolves to a 3CX FQDN. Internally I have setup our DNS to resolve the internal IP to the same FQDN. I still gt the error.

While the PBX is contacting with the correct public ip the source is coming from a different ip. In this case this has to be fixed on your network. Otherwise you still have the option to use your own SMTP.

Could not solve this. internal & external IP's resolve to the same FQDN, but the 3CX server just doesn't work.. used my own SMTP server...

Your own SMTP server is better anyways, but you should create a ticket (or have your partner do so) to fix this.

The external IP and the FQDN IP still do not match. Our system is showing communication from two different addresses. So, until this is resolved, you cannot use the 3cx SMTP. You will need to check on your network to ensure that the machine's communication outbound is using the same public IP as the one that is bound to the FQDN.
