Hey all,

I have my own onsite 3cx install that works perfectly with two handsets.

My wife is now working from home more and her company also use 3cx but the 3cx server is located at her office.

My phones will work perfectly in and out, my wife’s phone will ring out and ring in but no audio / voice.

If I turn off my instance of 3cx my wife’s phone will start to work but obviously mine will stop working.

If I take my wife’s phone and put it on any other broadband it works perfectly.

My wife’s phone is on a separate vlan and separate IP range within the network, firewall rules are the same for both networks / vlan

What do I need to do to get both to work on the same broadband connection?

In order for your 3CX and the Office phones to work, you need two WAN IP as you need to setup portforwarding to the correct systems.

STUN uses port 5060, and with one wan IP you can not portforward to your inhouse 3CX and the Office phone

3CX firewall rules - https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/firewall-router-configuration/

3CX stun recommended setup ?

Using one wan IP - you could install a SBC server for the office phone on a raspberry PI - https://www.3cx.com/docs/3cx-tunnel-session-border-controller/ as this only requires outbound traffic and no portforwarding configuring

Do not confuse us, ignore the T46 as these are connected to a totally different 3CX - inhouse.

Have you confirmed the OfficeT46S stun phone using the 3CX recommended setup ?
As i said above the office phone works fine on any other broadband connection, and if i turn my instance of 3cx off, the office instance is managed by the in house it for my wife company and they have sent over the stun info for me.

If it works on any other broadband, and when i turn my local instance off it must be a conflict somewhere

See above I have changed my post

Another option is to use a 3CX softphone application - windows application or windows desktop instead of the office phone

I have managed to resolve it myself now anyway thanks, setup my wife office phone on a vpn via PIA so the phone gets a new public ip, setup port forwarding and works perfectly.

Ask the work to change the local SIP port on her phone to anything other than 5060

Thanks for that, can that be done on a per phone basis? They wont change anything globally as as far as they care concerned it works when my connection is not online

Yes they can specify local sip ports per phone basis under extension settings / phone prov

Unfortunately, when her set was provisioned, it probably wasn't considered that it would reside on the same network as another SIP PBX. When that happens, you get conflicts. While they may have assigned it a local port that does not conflict with most home SIP services (such as 5060 and 5061), it is the "sharing" of audio ports, and how your router handles that, that would seem to have been the issue.
