I don't have permission to post this in the correct thread so hopefully an admin will move it. I'm a small MSP getting going with Odoo Online as my CRM. I plan to hire some help to answer calls and make outbound lead calls and wanted a way to make it easier on them to document interactions with screen pops. I've found several add-ins that work with on-prem instances, but nothing for Online. Several other threads say its not possible. Well - not being one to let things go, I figured it out and thought I'd share for the community.

(Trying to post the steps but 3cx doesnt like it.. standby :))

We have a full integration with Odoo that doesn't require any modules in Odoo and supports leads+contacts as well as call and chat logging in activities.

This is the way to go. Odoo can be very tricky, as far as I remember they don't have a native REST API, so integrating it with 3CX is not an easy task. @ConceptsWeb has done this already, so it makes no sense to re-invent the wheel. You will spend more time dealing with it, than what it will cost buying it from them.

RE outbound calls to leads, you might be interested in checking out SIP Caller. You can get SIP Caller from ConceptsWeb too.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve seen comments about you before but I hadn’t seen any details on how it works or if it can be done without upgrading a license with 3CX. Also, I’m just stating out and not interested in paying for other services so DIY is the appropriate road for me (for now).

Totally understand. Just a piece of advise here, this particular integration is though, not the one I would choose for DIY as a beginner, but you can try... If you get stuck it's never too late to change your mind...

License depends. You just need Pro/Enterprise as it uses the CRM integration in 3CX.

As for how it works, it uses a proxy that talks to the built-in XMLRPC API of Odoo, thus no modules, and can connect with both on-prem and cloud-hosted instances of Odoo.

Thanks for the details. Sounds like we had similar ideas then :) it’s good to know there are some pre-built options out there. Personally I’m in the DIY > Buy stage and I wanted to share this for others who may be similarly situated. Also of note.. my solution works with the free 3CX plan.

I plan to spin up something in my home lab to replace power automate. I have access to an account with a premium license but otherwise it’s $24/mo and some may not want to pay that. I’ll post an update as that progresses.

I was able to recreate it in N8N, JSON is in the github. Remember to place your DB name, API key, and User ID in the variable spaces. Hope this helps anyone other than me!
