For my small company I am trying to implement our main contact list, i.e. Google Contacts, as the 3CX organisation wide contacts list (so not just for one personal 3cx account). I plan to keep using Google Contacts as our main contact list and want changes/additions in contacts to be updated automatically in 3cx. I therefore worked out a workflow as follows.
1. Get a subscription to the cheapest Office 365 plan (Exchange Online (Plan 1)) with 1 user (which I also made an impersonated account, although I read somewhere that this would not be necessary if you only have this 1 user, which is the admin as well).
2. Use Piesync to sync Google Contacts to my Office 365.
3. Now, the contacts are nicely synced between Google Contact and Office.
4. 3cx admin dashboard>Contacts>Office 365. Use Server URL: https://outlook.office365.com/owa; fill in my impersonated user account and password.
So far so good. Now two options arise: "Configure public folders" and "Sync user".
Let's start with "Sync User" (with this option only the contacts of that user will be synced to that same user's account on 3cx). I added the only user I have on Office 365 (the impersonated account) and made a 3cx with the same mailaddress. Log in to the 3cx user account. GREAT! It works.
The problem is that I don't get my public folder configured. I tried all the possible variants on spelling and forward/back slashes etc, no success, the contacts list remains empty.
Anybody who's been here? Anybody with a solution/workaround?
