We have several shared mailboxes in Office365 one is for the operator which one of our users is a member of that shared MB.

The mailbox has a unique email address [email protected] the first name is operator in 3cx last name not filed out.

We have tested this several times by rebooting the server to trigger the sync with the same results.

Set operator extension as we mentioned above, turn off M365 sync and save, reboot, users show M365 off and correct information.

Turn on sync select regular MB users we want to sync, shared MB is not a choice of course, save reboot.

Immediately the operator extension maps the user info who is a member of the shared mailbox.

Seems there is some sort of cross linking that is not getting cleared and we certainly do not want to delete and recreate the operator extension for historical reasons.

Thoughts?

Not sure what you're trying to do here? Link a 3CX user to a shared mailbox? Users are mapped to Users only.

@ConceptsWeb Thank you for your question...
No, we have an extension xxx which uses a shared mailbox as the email address in 3CX, for some reason with M365 turned on the email address and user information on this extension xxx gets overwritten with a regular user xx1. The only correlation is a xx1 user has access to the share M365 mailbox. We have duplicated this several times, upon reboot the extension is overwritten with the information of xx1 yet xxx can't be selected to be synched because it is a shared MB and does not show in the select user in 3CX which we would expect xxx not to be available. The expected behavior should be extension xxx remains untouched by sync as its not being requested to be synched. Extension xx1 should be synched because it's a regular mailbox and selected to be synched with no impact on xxx, yet it does impact...

Probably that user xxx was synced at some point to the regular O365 user of xx1 and now it keeps mapping it back to that, even with the email not matching anymore.

Check the DN properties, delete anything Azure or Office365 related, then restart services.

I agree but there should be some logic in place to prevent this from happening on the 3CX side, I really hate breaking things :)
