Hi. I'm working to get Skype running with 3cx. For the Skype Status, I get, "Offline, Pending Authorization." Any ideas how to get it finished authorized?

Thanks!

Hi
From your previous message, I supposed you know what you have to do, so I didn't answered.
OK, for each gateway's channel, you have to click the "Skype" button. This will open channel's Skype client. In the channel "splash" window, you will see "
pending authorization" status. Watch Skype's window - at one time it will display a message asking if you want to allow 3CXSkypeGateway to access Skype. Click Allow, then in the splash click Done.
After that, start the gateway, it should work.

Hope it helps

Duhh! Sorry, that should have been obvious.

I got that fixed; but, now the PBX status shows as "Not Registered." I've double & triple checked ports and passwords and everything is ok.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi

The corresponding PSTN devices in the PBX are properly set? (hostname/IP, port, port identification, auth id, auth pass)?
If yes, set the PBX to verbose mode and check in its Management console the "Service activity log" for these PSTN lines messages to find a hint.
Also, on the gateway console, you may right-click the channel which shows "not registered" and select "Tracelog" - it will open its tracelog file, also check if you have a hint there.

Tell me how is going.

The only error message I see is SIP error 403. Searching the web, 403 means forbidden. I'll recheck ports, names, passwords again.

Which version your skype gateway is? I'm asking because on one of the first versions, we had an issue regarding this, but it was fixed.
Also, PBX version might be useful.
Thanks

The PBX is version 8.0.9414.453
The Gateway is version 2.0.8742

Thanks so much for all of your help!

Hi

I checked to see when gateway gets 403 - and it happens only in a case of password mismatch.
- First of all, a question - the PBX's database is a restored one, and the corresponding PSTN lines were previously created? In this case, you may try to create a new PSTN line, with "fresh" credentials, then try to set the gateway to use this one.
- Then, an unusual test, if you can do it: with the gateway stopped, run a 3CXPhone (it's gateway's "big brother") then try to register it with same credentials as the troubled gateway (say 10005, 10005, 10005). Don't care about 6060 or whatever SIP port, is not relevant for registration. Or, if you don't have 3CXPhone, try another one, even a hardphone. Tell me if it succeeds.

Hi Vali!

Ok. Everything is connected! Except, when I get an incoming call, the caller gets a message saying, "Destination is not available, not registered, or there are no routes available." Do you know if that message is coming from Skype or from the 3CX server?

From the logs, it looks like the calls are reaching the server!!

Thanks.

Hi, Nabil

This message is the voice prompt provided by PBX - it means a 404 "not found" error.
So, all you have to do is to check, on PBX Management Console, to which extension is routed the corresponding PSTN line (the "office hours" section) and be sure that extension is registered.

Well, we are getting close..

I have the 3CX softphone installed on my workstation and I set the server to direct calls to it, to make it as simple as possible while we test things. I still get the 404 error message.

Here is the snipit from the log:

The 3CXPhone says everything is OK and it is 'available' and "is now connected".

We are incredibly close ;)

Call(5): Target is not registered: Ext:Ext.1000

That stood out to me too, but the server says the phone is registered and the phone says it is available and connected.

To help us to understand what is going wrong, you can provide full log.

Thanks
