one holiday with different prompts

Hello,

I have a client who's company have different departments.
For holidays, the departments would like to use a prompt for specific there deartment.

So when you call the number 0123456789 on holiday, you get the prompt "welcome to client name, department name 1"
And when you call the number 9876543210 on holiday, you get the prompt "welcome to client name, department name 2"

Is there a way with a dummy extension or something else?

From your description, it appears as though there are DIDs used to reach a specific area. Presumably, there are IVR or Digital Receptionists in place already to handle the normal traffic and you would need to create new Digital Receptionists for each area and then point to them using the inbound rules.

You could also set dummy extensions or even use a real extension and then change the Vmail greeting to accommodate the desire.

You simply need to examine your existing inbound rule structure and determine which method allows you to get where you want using the fewest changes to your existing set-up. You will need to consider how to use out-of-office hours to support this desire as well and how to incorporate the holiday settings if you should elect to invoke this setting.

The bottom line is that there are a number of ways of doing what you want, but due to the complexity of having customized messages per department requires some additional planning and implementation.

Most (or least many) of these setups cover an entire business so that only one message need to be formulated and the Holiday setting can cover.

You can easily achieve this functionality with VAD. Unfortunately you need to purchase the VAD utility.
