Open CRM tabs silently

We are using the 3CX web app in conjunction with Hubspot to show contact information on an incoming call. It's all great, but it would be really useful if there is an option to open the tab silently in Google Chrome instead of it taking focus on every call, which can be very distracting at times. Any ideas?

Currently that is the intended behavior, I am not aware of a way though to force the tab to not change.

You can make tabs open silently in the background instead of taking focus, at least other extensions have that option anyway. That's a shame, might have to have a go hacking the extension apart!

Well, the Chrome extension is gonna be discontinued in favor of the DesktopApp so modifying it won't help you.

Also, if you're on v18, the app is much better than the Chrome ext.

In this case, the Webclient is the best for now.

If I remember correctly, the current browser ext will be kept as a second extension and be available for Mac/Linux users until the DesktopApp is ported.

No, it only gives the same options, but if you set your default browser to one that doesn't autofocus (I don't know any but maybe someone did it), it would work.

Otherwise, disable the autopopup and have the user click the Contact card icon to open it when they want it?

Seems like a bit of an omission to me to not offer this option. The automatic Hubspot tab is very helpful and we don't want rid of it, but when you're in the middle of a meeting or something else, it can get very distracting.

I understand, but at some point, it's one or the other.

3CX doesn't control how the browser window launches. They just send it a URL.

It's not up to them to control the focus.
