License change: Open AI voicemail transcription to be included with PRO in update 5.

In update 4 we enforced OpenAI as an enterprise feature having launched it in Update 2. Many customers have started to use it for voicemail transcription and were not willing or unable to move to the enterprise edition. Therefore we have now de...

3CX AI will be a separate licensing. If this will be available for Pro users is unknown at the moment.

More information will come in time.

Its there already, 3CX AI can be used for voice mail if you wish free of charge. Though for voice mail the savings are negligible.

You only need to pay for 3CX AI if you want call analytics and transcription of calls.

I'm still only seeing Google as on option on v20 PRO u4. Is there a future update that puts OpenAI back into PRO coming?

Nice! Thanks 3CX. I am not seeing yet @Joe Morrison. Will keep an eye on it and let you know if I see it pop back in.

It will be in update 5 sorry

Just wanted to say that I really appreciate this move by 3CX.
Once update 5 is live, we'll strongly recommend Pro clients start using 3CX AI for voicemail transcription. Once they see the benefits of it, it'll give us the opportunity to upsell them to Enterprise so that they can have it for call transcriptions as well. This is a win-win!

@pmterp - thank you for the headsup, much appreciated! I admit it was unhandily communicated and executed. We will release features more structured in future.

I can say that it was a last minute feature that was pushed into update 2 because we we're kind of excited to release it to market but we had not done enough homework/preparation around it....

Thanks, that’ll save us from uploading backups and everything else to Google Storage, since we don’t really (want to) use that!
I just hope U5 will be there soon, because we now have clients without voice mail transcriptions :)

But great that it will be back soon, thanks for listening!

And I agree the price difference between pro and ent is small. Perhaps in the future, it could be possible to temporarily upgrade a pro license to ent for free for like three months or so, as to let clients experience everything ent has to offer?
At the end of the trial, it would revert back to pro automatically if you decide not to permanently upgrade the license? It could be a good way to show off ent features.

Any chance we can get a delay of the v20 deadline for this on Pro? We ramped up and tested OpenAI and planned that as part of our v20 upgrade...been scrambling to re-work with Google but would really rather not have to pay my support staff to muck with Google then switch to OpenAI. Around half of our installs are Pro.

Personally I didn't like this, because it doesn't support Bengali (bn-BD) yet. Also Google text-speech supports Bengali (bn-BD) but that is not listed. The previous transcription was the best to me.

If you configure Google Storage then you can use Google Transcription again. It's a new requirement based on the way 3CX interacts with the Google API. Maybe the new 3CX transcription will support Bengali? If so, it might be worth an Enterprise upgrade.

Getting the OpenAI Whisper feature was very welcome, as it allowed us to do transcription again on systems that had various reasons to use SFTP or SMB for storage. Now with the new 3CX transcription I expect we'll be using that on our Enterprise systems.
