I installed 3CX last week and so far i love it (way easier that our previous VOIP platform). I got i connected with a SIP Trunk and i can make and receive call.

The only issue i got is that i have is that a can make calls to 0123456789, but i got all my contact stored as "+31123456789" (with the dutch country code) and when i try to make a call from the phonebook, it won't work. I have tried various settings in the "Outbound Rules" and tried reformatting the outgoing caller identification (under the siptrunk), but i can't seem to make it work.

I did search the forums, but i didnt find anything that looks like it (but i could be searching wrong)

I use the latest version of 3CX on debian.

Hi,

how about to add an outbound rule to match on +31 and rewrite it before sending it to the SIP-trunk? Dont forget to move it to the top of the outbound rules, to make sure it is a match.

I did made various outbound rules, but none of them had de de desired effect.

Setup the E164 in 3CX, to convert the + to the correct prefix, to be used by the outbound rules.

This was on (wich i though was right), but i turned it of in the settings menu, and low and behold, its working know..

I thought that i had to turn it on in order to use those +31 numbers.

e164 is off in the settings menu, but the option is on on the SIP-trunk. I have now two outbound rules active. 1 is to remove the +31 for numbers (like lars said) and one that strips 1 digit and adds +31. And now i can call 0123456789 en +31123456789 numbers.

Glad to see you were able to resolve the issue. E164 is used for processing numbers starting with + for your own country. Depending on what is configured there you adjust your outbound rules accordingly or you can turn if off and let outbound rules handle the rest.
