Hi,
I am trying to configure the outbound caller ID to +91226962xxxxx. This is not a SIP trunk number, but a third-party number, say like a toll free.

I have given this number in the Outbound Caller ID option in the SIP trunk. I have also configured the outbound parameters. But when I put the number +91226962xxxxx as outbound caller ID, the SIP trunk does not allow outbound calls.

I have attached the screenshot. Request help on this.

Regards,
Deepak

Provider doesn't allow numbers that are not in your account. Simple as that.

You need to figure this out with your provider.

Thanks @ConceptsWeb, I am not convinced with the reply. It has nothing to do with the SIP trunk service provider. It has all to do with 3CX configuration. As the error message while dialing is coming from 3CX.

'System does not allow. Please talk to the administrator' - Voice error message.

Do you get any errors in the Event log? Is it allow county code issue?

The event log is showing 'Not Answered'. No, it is not a country code issue. The moment I changed the ID to default in the Outbound rules, then it allowed calls.

In the Dashboard >> Event log
do you see any error there?

Yes, I am getting an error log. I have uploaded the screenshot.

The error comes from the IP of the provider, right? Contact their support and see what they have to say there.

Hi @OlegR_3CX,
You mean to say when I am giving the default trunk number +9187645xxxx, the service provider is allowing it. And when given the other number +91226964 it is not allowing. But the forbidden error is coming from 3CX.

When I configuring with the +9187645xxyy which is other trunk number of the same service provider, it is working well. Though it is not the default trunk number!

I will post a previous response of mine to this thread as well.

The original post is about sending a Caller ID which does not belong to you in a forwarded call but is relevant here too.

Caller ID passthrough can be sent by 3CX. The SIP field entry for sending the Original Caller's ID is "OriginatorCallerId"

However, it is solely and entirely up to the provider to accept this.

Many providers do not allow you to send a caller ID that is not assigned to your account to prevent spoofing, and/or fraud attempts.

What may happen if a "foreign" caller ID is sent to a provider that does not allow CLIP No screening:

1. Reject the call outright
2. Send the call out with "Anonymous" as the Caller ID
3. Send the call out with a random Caller ID from their pool (This may even be a number from a different country)
4. Send out your main account number (usually your main trunk number) as the Caller ID.

Generally, if you have any caller ID issues, please contact your SIP Provider.

Your response in Post #9 gives an IP address of 218.248.233.222. Is this your provider's IP. The PBX is giving you the error message because it is relayed from your provider.

Hi @NicholasP_3CX ,

Thank you for your detailed explanation. I believe you are right. Based on your reply, I checked everything and it seems the Provider IP is rejected by any other caller ID, which is not in the series of the provider. That is the reason +91-87645-xxxx is also working, and +91-87645-xxyy and +91-87645-yyyy are also working when given as caller ID.

218.248.233.x is the provider IP series, and hence 218.248.233.222 is the provider IP only.

You can speak with your provider and ask them if they can verify this specific number to be used when dialling out. Some providers accept this, but some dont.

Yes, I have already mailed the service provider. I doubt they will, but I am keeping my fingers crossed. Thank you all for your responses.

You are welcome, and let us know the outcome.

Hi,
We interacted with the service provider. And it seems the Govt. of India law regulates to have caller ID as per the assigned number only. And no change can be done.

Thank you all for your co-operation.
