Hi, I am on a 24sc v20. I am having trouble with outbound caller ID on extensions. Customer wants all extension to have there own ddi for incomming and outgoing calls.
When i put caller id into outboud id on user it still shows up main trunk number. I can put any of the ddi numbers into main trunk number and they will work on outbound caller ID but if i put any ddi number into user it will only show what is in the main trunk number. Any help would be much appreciated.

First of all, you need to contact your provider and ask them in which format do they want you to define the caller ID.

Some require E164, others in local format etc. Also ask them which SIP Field they take the Caller ID information from.

Once you have that info, you would need to enter that info into the users' extensions (under general)

Any DIDs assigned to the user can easily be selected.

Go into the SIP Trunk configuration, under options and choose "OutboundCallerId" in the SIP field the provider requires this.

Hi Nicholas,
Before i find out from the sip provider what format they need one more question.
When i change the main trunk number to any of the ddi`s the outbound number will change to the ddi i put in..
Does this not mean that the format for the sip is ok or is the format from the main trunk number and extension outbound caller ID different

That would definitely mean your format is correct. Good test you did there!

You just need to see now about the SIP field they use for the caller ID.

You could do a capture when making a call from the PBX and also see if the PBX is sending this information and what is being shown on the receiving end.

You're not putting this in the outbound rules caller caller ID are you, as this will override.
