Hello,

I am using VoIP.ms as a trunk. I set as outbound parameter the field "FROM: DISPLAY NAME" to "Outbound CallerID Taken from Extension Settings in management console" and i put the name of the business in the field "CallerID" of the extension.

When i am calling a hard line, they can see the CallerID name. But when we call on a mobile phone, they get "unknown".

If i put a number in the field CallerID of the extension, the number is always display even on a hard line or a mobile phone.

Is there anything that i can look in parameters of the VoIP provider or in 3CX to resolve the CallerID text to be display everywhere ?

Most mobile carriers display only the Caller ID Name, only the number.

However, since VoIP.ms is a supported provider, I suggest you use the official settings and only change the field required to set the Company Name if needed. The rest shouldn't be changed.

Depends on how your (or other)mobile company(s) deals with caller name. they could do a look-up themselves to match the incoming number, then send that name, or they can simply pass along the name that is sent to them, or not send a name at all. I suspect that in most cases, it is the latter. The same thing can happen with the land-line (PSTN) provider.

You are probably best off discussing this with your SIP provider...in what field do they want to see the name sent. You may not be able to find a solution that works with all destinations, and will have to settle for one that works with most.
