PA System - Restrict Access

Hi All,

We have installed a PA system (Fanvil PA2) which works perfectly (Debian ISO / BareMetal / v16.0.910).

We are wondering if we are able to restrict access to the PA to one or two internal extensions only?

Right now, anyone could call the PA and put out an announcement (deliberately, or accidentally).

You can use Exceptions under the Forwarding rules of the PA extension.



In this example none of my extensions from 001 to 400 can call this extension, but my operator 000 can

Can I check: Will that also block an external caller, who hits the initial IVR, from entering the extension number of the PA?

The rule looks for a match, if no match is found for the condition you defined, it is completely ignored.

So in my case the IVR is 800 so it won't match to the rule and should pass ok.

I only want Ext 438 to be able to call the PA system, so I added two rules for 'Caller IDs':

000 to 437
439 to 999

both 'All Hours' and 'End Call'.

When I tried calling from my cell phone number to the external main line, then entering the PA extension number during the IVR message, it still connects to the PA system.

Am I missing something?

You can't block everything, its was mainly a way to prevent extensions from dialling.

The phonesystem is not an extension so it does not match the restriction rules.

Okay - so no way to stop an external caller from getting to the PA (if they happened upon the extension number)?
