Solved package difference between On-Premise and self-hosted Cloud

Hey All,

Quick question- is there a difference between doing an initial setup of a 3CX system using the self-hosted cloud option vs using the on-premise option and then installing in the cloud and using that license? Is it just an ease of use type of thing to use the cloud self-hosted option?

On-prem is LAN, thus phones are local to the PBX and the instance is hosted in your physical servers.

Cloud Self-Hosted is when the instance is in AWS, Azure or similar and you connect remotely to it via SBC and the apps.

Beside that, it's pretty much easy in both cases.

I understand waht they are supposed to be used for. My question is are the packages the same? You know how when you do the initial setup on the Customer Portal, you are asked if you want to do 3cx hosted, cloud self-hosted, or on-prem? Are the on-prem and self-hosted cloud ISOs the same?

It's all the same, only "Hosted by 3CX" is a bit different and has limitations since it's managed by them.

The "packages" are the same since it just depends on your license level. Whether on-prem or cloud, there's only a few small differences (cloud = no analog gateways, no multicast paging.)
