Paging other phones (like one way announcement)

Hello Everyone
Thanks for stopping and checking into this.I m looking for some help to setup paging code to send one way audio announcement to other extensions in the network.My 3cx system is in the cloud (3cx hosted) and have diffrent types of phones like Grandstream ,Yealink and Fanvil brand.ANd they are all provisoned with 3cx templates.i tried setting up a Paging Virtual Extension Group and added the 5 extensions in the group and setup Dial Code under settings to dial *88 but i got fast busy tone and than the call doesnt go through.i tried some other codes but than they over lap with other deafult codes that are being used.Any help is much apparicated.

We have been setting the paging code to *9 and it seems to work fine without interfering. I decided on it after finding some older documentation mentioning that code.

Hi alltech247,

If you used 2 digits extension length, Please note *88 is reserved for "Echo Test Service"(System Extensions).
Please change your paging code and test again.

To check the 3CX System Extensions, go to 3CX Dashboard >> Click "System Extensions" under PBX status.

Make sure your extension has the correct rights to be able to intercom too.

Just to clarify, since you mention both creating a Paging Group and the dial code do note that creating a Paging Group means that all you need to do is dial that paging group extension number to page its members, no dial code required.

The Dial code is only used when paging an extension directly, in which case, as kieferschild mentioned, the extension rights of the extension performing the intercom call do matter so make sure that it has the "Can Intercom" right under "Extensions >> Edit >> Rights".
