Hello,

I have a school that wishes to use a paging group for their lockdown proceedures.

The idea being a paging group is "called" and it simply plays a pre-recorded audio message to each member of the paging group.

I don't see such an option that stands out from the current V16 features, so I assume a Call Flow App is needed.

So from "Main" do I just add a "Loop" with a "Prompt Playback" inside and attach the audio file in the Properties. Is that it?

My concern is that a staff member would "trigger" the lockdown and then put the phone handset down\end the call. Would ending the call stop the CFA playing back the audio? If not, how would we stop the CFA when the lockdown was over? *I've just found Disconnect Handler Flow which I guess would assist with this.

Otherwise the instruction to them is that they must not replace the handset until lockdown is over.

Or, if I was to use a Menu, "press 1 for lockdown, press 2 to end lockdown", could the triggering handset be replaced, the audio plays on a looop, they dial the CFA again and select option 2 which fires an "Exit Callflow"?

Otherwise, could they use a dial code to start it, without lifting a handset, and dial another code to stop it?

Or am I so off track this isn't even an option?

Thanks in advance,

David.

I think you have a reasonable grasp on how to do this. Our 3CX Emergency Notifier does precisely this. I think placing a flag in a text file that says something like "repeat=true" would do the trick. You just check the flag within the loop. If you call the CFD extension a second time, check the status of the flag and if it is set to true, change it to false. That will break you out of the loop.

We have "panic" buttons that can play an audio file once, or continuously. You start the alarm by dialing an extension (it's fine if the caller hangs up) and you turn it off by dialing the same extension a second time.

Further, you configure groups who should be notified (phones, overhead paging, etc.). Finally, we don't stop at paging, we can also send emails, SMS texts and desktop alerts.
