paging to user outside of your group

just curious if this is by design, or maybe a bug? but we just finished deploying a large school in our area and was struggling to get an office phone to page into a classroom. after some trial and error it was realized the phones needed to be in the same user group to page to each other.

we have the users broke up like "high school office" and then "high school classrooms" so the office couldn't page the classrooms. but could page each other (which is when the light bulb ah-ha went off).

so, by design you can't page across groups, or is that a bug maybe?

AFAIK, paging is irrelevent to extension groups. As long as the paging ring group is set up you're able to dial *<paging prefix><page group ext>
