I am having an bizarre issue that has started within the last week.

Our office has 4 POTS lines, a primary and 3 rollover lines setup in a hunt group through the telco company.

FX0 – Primary

FX1 – 1st rollover

FX2 – 2nd rollover

Fx3 – 3rd rollover

We are going from the FXO to 3cx using the 3cx built config file from SIP Trunk Setup.

Issue –

If I dial the main line number it continues to ring never hitting the 3cx IVR.

If I dial the rollover numbers directly they hit the 3cx IVR like they should.

If I dial the main line, and then dial it again on a 2nd phone I connect to the 3cx IVR.

I never do see the calls to the main line show up on the FXO device under active calls.

If I reload the config and restart the Patton device and wait roughly 5 minutes I can call the main line and hit the 3cx IVR once. Then it stops.

I don’t know what is going on here. I don’t know if the FXO device is not routing FX0/0 correctly or if the line is having issues.

I have hard reset the Patton device and reloaded config.

I have factory reset the Patton and reloaded config.

I have hard reset, rebuilt trunk in 3cx, and reloaded config.

I have factory reset, rebuilt the trunk in 3cx, and reloaded config.

Any suggestions?

I'm assuming that this is set up as a single trunk group, in 3CX.
The first thing i would do, (when it's not working), is to check the 3CX Activity Log, when calling the main number, to see if an Invite is being sent to 3CX. If it is, then it may be a 3CX issue (all gateway settings being correct), if it isn't, then it's probably a gateway (or phone line?) issue.

You might try swapping the incoming lines , such as, plugging line 2 into line 1, to see if the issue is with the first port on the gateway.

Also, you have followed our guide for the Patton 4114 correct? For Step 5 in particular have you created all four DIDs (00000, 00001, and so on) and Inbound rules for each?

Glad it was resolved. It's always handy to have an analogue set, sitting around, to confirm that there is actually dialtone, on each PSTN line.
