People/Switchboard Name Display Issue Not Solved

Prior to this last update (16.0.641), the way names were displayed in the People and Switchbaord tabs depended on the sorting option selected under Settings>Personalize>Status View. Changing the status view sorting option changed how the names were displayed in People and Switchboard tabs, i.e. selecting the First Name Last Name sort order would not only sort the extensions by first name, but also display them first name last name.

After the update, the names are displayed last name first name regardless of the sorting option selected by the user. The solution to this mentioned in this thread for changing the display options globally specifically states it is for phonebook entries on the IP phones:

The fact that it overrides user preferences for the People and Switchboard tabs in the webclient is a bug.

The option on Web Client on the new update actually respect it's description. So it defines the sort order on presence and switchboard. It will not alter how the information will be rendered on those two screens.

As a result option on Management Console will define how the presentation will be done on FN/LN, LN/FN and the sort order is up to the user to define it.

@Constantinos Constantinou if that's the case, and the change in display behavior was intentional, then the change should have been documented in the change log and the description text for the Phonebook display setting should have been updated to reflect the fact that the setting now affects both the company phonebook on IP phones as well the People and Switchboard tabs on the webclient.

We also ran into this problem. I dont think the support team understood the problem correctly.

The names should be displayed as 1st name/Last name when selecting that option but they seems to be still displayed by last name 1st. It is a big problem for pbx who have lots of users.

Please fix.

We have also noticed this behavior, users at our clients are using the above mentioned options each differently ( just like email, some people like what they like) we would prefer to have the option work the way it did in the past.

let the user chose which way they want, first name last name displays that list and last name first name displays that list. Thanks

If you go into contacts>options in the management console you can choose How the names are displayed.

Thanks cortel, that being said, before an update the clients could override that feature but after the update, the clients settings cannot override the server settings.
