Hello,

Has anyone had the issue of a call being terminated after exactly one hour? We tested this on our PBX and sure enough the call was terminated exactly at one hour. Is there a way to extend this? We have already checked the "MAXCALLDURATION = 10800" is already set to the default. But still calls end after one hour exactly.

Thanks,

-Mark

Does this apply for only external calls or internal (extension-to-extension) calls too? The reason I'm asking is because it might be the SIP Provider ending the call due them having their own max call duration parameter and not the PBX meaning you might have to reach out to them about this.

Also, are you using a 3CX Supported provider?

Hi ChrisC,

Thanks for your reply. This was an external call to an extension. We are going to try extension to extension first to rule out the SIP provider.

Thanks,

-Mark

Which end drops the call, according to the 3CX Activity Log? If it comes from your providers IP, then you will have to contact them. Perhaps there is a call length option, you'll have to have changed at their end.

Both ends of the call drop at the same time according to the activity log. We tried making a ext. to ext. call and the call did not drop after an hour. I have already put a ticket in the with SIP provider. Thanks for your help.

Under normal circumstances, a call will terminate because of a message ( BYE, CANCEL) sent from one end or the other. If the Activity Log is set to Verbose, it should show which end terminates the call. I suspect it will be your provider.

It's our SIP provider. We use a preferred 3CX provider called DID logic. They just confirmed that our maximum call duration is one hour. I have emailed them to see if we can increase this. Anyone experienced the same thing?

Glad to see you identified the cause. I'm not sure if DID Logic can change that for you, hopefully one of our community members that just happens to have come across the same provider knows.
