So two odd issues. Just switched from Asterisk / Freepbx to 3CX.
Phone settings are the same - simply replaced IP /hostname of pbx server and auth username.
One phone is a Nova SIP cordless, other is a grandstream GPX1630.
The 1630 seems to go to 'sleep'. Calls - internal or external, don't ring. It can still make outgoing calls.

Here's the log when I call it from extension 03 to extension 00 (00 is the Desk phone, 03 is a pc client) 09/28/2018 9:39:37 AM - Call to T:Extn:00@[Dev:sip:[email protected]:5488;rinstance=b706020b8085ff98] from L:84.1[Extn:03] failed, cause: Cause: 404 Not Found/INVITE from 127.0.0.1:5488 .

Outgoing calls: Calls to certain numbers disconnect when the calling party answers.
09/27/2018 8:05:22 PM - Call to T:Line:10000>>1##########@[Dev:sip:[email protected]:5060] from L:58.1[Extn:02] failed, cause: Cause: 486 Busy Here/INVITE from 216.115.69.144:5060 .

Any ideas on either?

The first issue, the device going to sleep...why is it doing this? A setting? If a SIP device is sent an Invite, it must respond (I assume it still appears to be registered or it would not be sent an invite). If the device is asleep, it does not should as if it is even seeing the Invite. That is the problem.

As far as the outgoing call, it would appear that it is actually "busy here" (as reported by your provider). Why it "disconnects", i'm not certain. You should receive a busy tone, or recording. I would contact them with your concerns and a list of the "certain" numbers. Do those numbers have anything in common...all one mobile company, a VoIP provider?

So I think I fixed the first issue - let 3cx Provision the Grandstream phone. Lost all my settings, but it's working.

For the second issue - and forgot to provide details, sorry, I'm using flowroute. Latest 3CX, installed about a week ago. So one number is my parents - POTS line. It certainly isn't busy. They answer, and as soon as they answer, the call is dropped. Another number I called - a friends cell phone (Verizon?) He says it rings once - disconnects, rings again, disconnects, then rings a few times. During the ring / disconnect phase, i hear nothing. I'll contact flowroute, but not sure they can help - this was fine for me when I was using freepbx / trixbox...

PS: Where are the logs on 3cX? I don't see anything useful in /var/logs - and dashboard/logs only go back so far - what file are these stored in? Thanks :)

This Activity Log is the most useful as is shows all call routing, and why.

Is there a file l can monitor (tail / cat)? Would sometimes be better when troubleshooting than doing something, hit refresh, etc.

You could use Wireshark in real time.
