Solved Phones keep disappearing from Dashboard

Hi

I have a client we have moved across to a new Server. Debian. Weird thing is the phones keep disappearing from the dashboard. One minute there are 10 phones present then nothing. The ext stays but go red. Seems when a call comes in they drop off for some reason. So you get one ring then dead. The caller can still hear the phone ringing on his side though.

Hi Alex,

Could you give us a bit more info about the setup? Where was the server before? Is it local now or remote in the cloud? What phones are you using and how are they provisioned, LAN/STUN/SBC?

Is there anything else about the installation that could potentially affect this, like custom templates, non-tested firmware on the phones, etc?

Yip - so it was run on a server with the windows application. 3cx for windows. We installed a new server and create a hyper machine on that server and loaded Debian. Did the restore from the old server (which we have done before) all the extensions came up ok. The phones populated through slowly - as they do. But they would not stay in the dashboard. Under phones -when you look in the Phones section of the dashboard its blank one minute then has phones the next. . I provisioned another phone from scratch and it comes up as new. Then I assign an extension and it shows the phone and extension one minute then says its a new phone the next. These are set to LAN.

The phones were working fine before we moved them.

Then I think I may have a suspicion.

Read the last section. Generally Hyper-V has an awful problem with time synchronization, causing the VM the jump back and forward in time.
While for other apps this is not a problem, imagine what would happen if the VM jumps forward 1 minute, when the PBX thinks that the Registration of a phones expiry ends in 10 seconds. The result is that it becomes unregistered until the phone re-registers.

Give it a shot, reboot everything and see how it goes.

Tried it and it worked. Thanks for that and sorry about the delay. It was a timing issue all along.
