Hello
I have some problem getting Cisco SPA512G phones to connect to our 3CX server over the internet.
To make the long story short, it seems that some routers just don't work in a VoIP environment.
The phones do not register at all with them, while the same phones with the same settings are registering just fine with other routers.
So far I have tested routers from TP-LINK - TL-ER5210 and NETGEAR - FVS338. Both routers don't allow somehow the phones to register over the internet, behind NAT. With the NETGEAR I can only register one phone at a time, but not more than one.
With other routers from Asus or Zyxel, all phones are registering just fine.
I tried various settings, disabled ALG where I could. No luck.
The only way I could get one phone to register is by setting it up in DMZ (which in the long run won't cut it)
Of course, the routers in question are allowing outbound connections.
Besides just changing the routers I am running out of ideas.
Anyone stumbled upon this kind of problem and was able to solve it somehow?
Later edit, adding other router models as I come across them, so others can stay away from such models in a voip environment.
Not working at all or partially:
TP-LINK - TL-ER5210
NETGEAR - FVS338
D-LINK DIR 615 (300)
