Solved Pixel 3 XL Blutooth Issues with Podcast App Pocket Casts

I have an issue with 3CX and the app "Pocket Casts"

Its one of the most popular podcasts apps on android.

When a call comes through and you answer, the podcasts app keeps playing in the background.

I think this is a 3CX app glitch / problem

The OS should normally tell playback apps to pause when a call arrives, does this problem happen for normal GSM calls also?

Hi John, when gms calls come through the podcast app pauses correctly.

Try changing the call API by going to 3CX app settings > advanced > car/bluetooth support and toggling the setting. Retest again to see if the behavior changes in this case

Is there a reason its not set by default?

the only reason i ask is if we want customers to have the best experience, they arent going to go looking in forums or play with the settings, they are simply going to stop using it or whing to the partner that it doesnt work

Hi Rhys,

Depending on the phone and android calling API implementation (since different manufacturers customize their OS and its not the same across all models on the market) you will find that there is no default that works on all.

Some phones will need the option unticked, some phones will need it ticked hence we included both to cover as many use cases as we can. It just so happens for example that on your phone it prefers it enabled, whereas on my phone which is a much older model and OS it just so happens that it works on both ticked/unticked
