Hi,

we’re seeing more and more demand for IP speaker / PA setups with 3CX, especially for medical facilities, schools and public-sector projects.

The previously supported Grandstream G3505 / G3510 devices have been EOL for quite a while and are no longer available. Devices that are actually on the market today, like the Grandstream G3516 or Fanvil A201, aren’t officially supported yet – which unfortunately means we have to walk away from some interesting projects, even though we’d really like to stay within supported hardware.

So we were wondering: is there any chance 3CX could work together with hardware partners to get modern IP speaker / PA devices officially supported?
Feels like a win-win for everyone – 3CX, partners, and customers alike.

Thanks a lot for considering this :)

on a whim... i just did a test of a 3516 using the 3505 template, and by gosh it provisions and takes pages. more to come on this, but it appears you can still use the old template.

do this at your own risk, more testing tomorrow.

A SIP speaker is a simple device. Choose a device from a vendor with good quality support that is able to support the connection to 3CX and just create an extension. No template needed.

i think what the OP is looking for is the ability to have the 3cx system push the config automatically. when you have 250 speakers in a school, configuring each one takes a while. sure you can just bill accordingly for the time, but if the speakers could just grab the configurations automatically from the system like the rest of the phones do, it's a major time savings when using a CSV file to import everything in one mouse click.

just a thought, maybe something that can be pursued?

I have had some luck with the FANVIL A233 speakers. Fanvil was very responsive to get the template bugs worked out and sent me the file to load.

Yeah in this case you create a template for it and use that? You can just create a custom template based on another paging device template
