hello im trying to accomplish a specific task and Ive had such a hard time getting a straight answer on the subject in short i want to send bulk sms from a sms enabled viop toll free phone number i have purchased online how would i go about doing that i am a beginner so noob explanations would be appreciated lol thank you in advance.

To send bulk SMS, you're probably better off doing it outside of the PBX and using your message centre's API.

3CX cannot do batch. You'll need an external application or service to do so. Or you can create your own script to do it.

If your provider is Twilio, use TwilML Apps or Twilio Studio.

Not strictly true - you could code it up in CFD with database reads and HTTP GET/POSTs to the message centre's API. Not that any sane person would ever want to do that :) !

CFD would be stupid for that. Just build a script separately.

Sorry but this is not even a good answer. It wouldn't make any sense. And as I answered directly, 3CX doesn't do SMS batches. No matter if CFD can or not, the 3CX itself doesn't do it.

guiys thank you so much for your replys really appreciated but your speaking a diffrent language to me lol can someone lay out exactly what i need to do to be able to accomplish that specific task of bulk sms from my viop toll free number thats sms enabled

I agree. It would be stupid and wouldn't make any sense. Unfortunately, this is exactly the kind of thing some users do.
In my experience, saying "The software won't do X" is counter-productive - users work out how to make the software do X (albeit in a foolish and inefficient way) and then because they've proven you wrong, they don't trust a word you say in future. We've found it better to say "You could make the software do that, but it's not designed to do it. It'll be clunky and inefficient and there are far better ways to do it such as......."
So please don't think I was having a go at you - I wasn't.

You are absolutely right, but saying the software CAN do it (even if really bad) often makes the customer go "let's do it" and regret it afterwards, even when we warn them, because some people just care about the invoice. That's why, if we know the software isn't "designed" for this, we don't say it can. We prevent a lot of issues and complaining this way.

Hi @Viking1488

I will give you a straight answer: The 3CX SMS implementation is not designed for bulk SMS sending

Having said that, it is absolutely fantastic for P2P messaging.
As for a link to documentation for bulk messaging, I think you should go to the forum of the SMS Provider you have signed up with and ask other users there.
