The original thread for this topic has now been closed, but on 19 Aug 2018 @santiagon asked whther the IVR prompt 'Please hold while I transfer your call' could be reinstated between the caller choosing an option and the call being picked up.

@YiannisH_3CX said this facility had been removed in 15.5 but suggested: 'You could have a second IVR play the message however and then immediately transfer the call to the desired destination.'

Sorry to be dumb, but I can't see a clean way of implementing this. Do I copy please_hold.wav into ProgramData > 3CX > Instance1 > Ivr > Prompts and set up a new Digital Receptionist extension pointing to this file? So when the caller presses 1 for 'Amazing Activists' or 2 for 'Blundering Buffoons' both options point to IVR Extension 888 containing please_hold.wav, which duly plays. But then what? Set 'If no input within seconds' to 1 and the destination to the required Ring Group? That would entail a delay of at least 1 second before the music and the transfer process started, and seems a bit clumsy.

Is there a more elegant way of implementing this interim solution until we get a direct console option, please?

Many thanks
