I’m having some real problems with Plusnet in the UK, trying to get an on-site PBX to adhere to the firewall rules port forwarding just isn’t working on 5060 and 5090

I’ve called Plusnet they’re not willing to support anything other than “have you tried to switch it off and on again”

I’m 100% confident I’ve set this up correctly, all my other port forwards work fine, I’ve done 30 PBX and SBC installs and worked in IT support for over 20 years

Has anyone else had issue with this ISP?

Hi @chrisjako

Do you have a firewall on site or its just the ISPs modem? Does the 3CX firewall checker confirm that ports 5060 and 5090 are not forwarded correctly?
Are you having any other issues apart from the 2 ports not being forwarded correctly? For example can you register a 3CX client outside the network through the tunnel? Do calls work?
As far as I know there were no other reports with the specific ISP in the UK but other community members might have more experience with them.

It's just plunets V2 modem

The firewall checker reporting mapping ports 20001 to 20015 rather the=en the 5060 and 5090 ports

I am thinking, because i setup PBX whilst the customer was on TalkTalk - he then changed to plusnet ISP - I am thinking that this is the cause of the issue - i have tried the cleanup wizard command remotely via putty and reinstalled but I haven't actually stuck a USB into the PBX and started again afresh installing debian

Does the router have a phone socket, you may have to disable this (this maybe using voip)

no it doesn't just the 3 lan ports and the one wan connected to an adsl line

Some SIP capable ISP modems use port 5060 and capture traffic directed to that port. Check if there is an option somewhere in the modem to disable this.

There is no option for that - also I re-installed and changed the port to 5065 and 5095 - still same issue

Then you need to speak to your ISP again. They are probably detecting SIP and intercepting it in some way.
