Does anyone have any guides or success stories setting up a RealPresence Trio 8800 on 3CX. The vendor assured us it would work but I cannot find a single article on how to do it and I've bought 2 of these for quite a lot of money!

Hi Matt Howard,

These are not supported at all, I think your only option would be to set them up and register them manually with 3CX. You will not get the full features and functionality you would desire however:

Supported Polycom conference phones below. These also have a template in 3CX also (polycom.ph.xml):

One thing to note: The Yealink CP960 has recently come out, this model is equivalent to the Polycom Trio in every way and is a lot cheaper it is also 100% 3CX supported both locally and for hosted systems (SBC & STUN). Something to consider in the future: http://yealink.com/products_45.html

The selling point of the Trio is that it can be a Skype for Business room without requiring a laptop, so the Yealink isn't a straight replacement.

Look on the Polycom forums for how to enable hybrid registration so you can have it connected to SfB as well as a SIP server. I've never had an issue manually registering them to a SIP PBX - you won't get provisioning to work. Check you're on the latest firmware etc.

The CP960 will be approved for SfB very shortly, I have been reliably told that it should have ALL the features of the TRIO as well as a little more - watch this space!

That being said last time I checked this was a 3CX forum not Skype for Business :)

As far as 3CX is concerned the CP960 over the TRIO will offer:

* Full support from 3CX.
* All 3CX features and functionality.
* Auto provisioning via plug and play.
* SBC and STUN support.
