Happy Holidays!
Am trying to configure PORTech MV-370 as a remote termination gateway and am confused under the guide if it will work with version 16.03. the guide seems to be written for an older version.

Basically my 3CX server is in the cloud and i have IP phones working remotely, behind an SBC installed on VM.
My question is would the gateway work remotely? or is not worth mucking with it?

Thanks All and Merry Christmas Yall.

Hi,

Not an answer to your question, but both Portech MV370 and 372 work well with 3CX v16SP3… on-premises. Never tried it with a 3CX in the cloud.

Gateways, as in trunk gateways, are not supported unless they are local to the server, or, set to use VPN. That said, there are some users that have managed to get them (some gateway models) to work on a hosted system. You will have to do some searching (forum and Google), and hope someone else has tried it with the Portech models you have.

Thanks @complex1 and @leejor. seems the mind needed a drink to spin back to thinks. i got the device to register by setting both the domain and proxy server address to SBC LAN ip. Time to test drive some call load now. :p:p

Merry Christmas

Keep in mind that while registration alone may allow incoming calls, with trunks, you need to put in the IP and port of the gateway, for outgoing calls. That can be the tricky part, along with getting audio to pass.

Hi @leejor,

Please advise on where i need to input the IP address of the gateway.

Thanks Alot

Got it sorted. I realised i need the LAN IP. now i have it working both ways remotely behind SBC:p:p:p
