We used to have our system on Windows but we are transitioning to Debian v20. Upon uploading our backup to the configuration and finishing the process, we are met with the links to login to the 3cx. However, we are only given our username and no password. We have tried every password we have and still receive errors up to the IP is blacklisted. When we do "Forgot Password", we receive no email. I have tried looking at the XML file in the root of the backup, and even then I cannot find a password to the account. I've tried searching "Admin, WEBSERVERPASS, password, " and each time, there is no password that goes with it. Is there a default login or another way to figure out the password for us to login?

For v20 you will use the extension credentials - so extension number and webclient password of a user with system owner role.

If you want the password reset button to work, you will need to have a unique email on that extension.

The backup file will not have a plain text password in it.

In V20 the admin credentials are no longer available.
You need to login with the credentials of the assigned System Owner extension.

What should we do if the unique email is not sending us a "Forgot password" email link?

Restore back to v18 and confirm the system owner + the password. Otherwise, short of unsupported methods or contacting 3CX support, a reinstall and reconfigure.

You are using the 3CX SMTP?

We have this problem solved. Was able to receive the email and login.

Glad to know this is resolved ;)
