Problem with 3cx - 3cx Phone ove the internet

Hi,

I made this project to use my house´s phone on the office with 3cx:

PSTN - Gateway Linksys SPA 3102 - Ethernet - 3CX server - ADSL Modem - Internet - ADSL Modem - Router - IP Phone.

I did some tests with 3cx phone to see how it´s working, and it worked in these situations:
- 3cx server with 3CX phone conecting local IP - worked.
- 3cx server with 3CX phone conecting external IP - worked.

But when I did a test using de 3CX phone at the Office´s LAN, I got this error:

phone got as local port 4469
integration with 3cx call assistant is off
rtp engine ok
sip engine ok
sound mic device ok []
sound ring device ok []
sound play device ok []
phone is sending STUN request
Phone connection failed, server not responding

At the 3cx Phone the configuration was this:
I am out of the office - external IP xx.xxx.xxx.xx of PBX.

At 3CX phone system in the Server Activity screen doesn´t apear anything.
I made de firewall test and it passed.

What´s the problem?
Help please.

It sounds like something is blocking the connection from passing trough correctly, have you tried tunnel mode and where there any warning during running the firewall checker?

In the firewall checker, everything passed.

I didn´t try tunnel because I don´t know how it works.
Do I need 3cx Phone system installed at the computer with 3CX Phone?

Hi,

No for the tunnel you simple need to have your tunnel password and internal Ip of the your PBX. Also 5090 has to be open on PBX side. Default tunnel password is ABC and MUST BE CHANGED.

I tried with the tunnel, didn´t work either.
I turned off the firewall of the server, didn´t change either.

Very strange this problem, as you said, it seems like something is blocking the conection.

I did another test using other computer connected directly to the internet using an ADSL modem using 3cx phone, trying to connect to the server that is already connected directly to the internet with an ADSL modem too. The ping test is normal. I can open the 3cx phone system interface in the other computer. I used UltraVNC to access the server, everything worked, only the connection of the 3Cx phone doesnt´t work.

Now the tunnel worked.
The mistake was the IP in the tunnel´s configuration, I was using the LAN IP on the config. Now I changed to internet´s IP and it worked properly.

But without the tunnel it isn´t working, and now I want to use a SIP phone to connect to 3CX, my SIP phone doesn´t work with tunnel, is there any SIP phone that work with tunnel.

Does anyone know or have an idea about what must be the problem that makes de connection not work without the tunnel?

HI Julian,

Why wouldnt your SIP phone work with tunnel, what deivce are you using and have you tried to set it up using stun and a direct connection to the PBX thus skipping tunnnel altoghther.

Hi,

I´m using the Intelbras TIP 100, that is a common brand here in Brazil, and it doesn´t support tunnel.
But when I try to use direct connection I get this error in 3CX Phone

It apears that the STUN server works, but when it tries to conect to the server, get this message of error.
