Dear friends.
I´m a quite new in the VoIP world and it´s my first trial on installing a VoIP server like 3CX.
I´m having a little trouble with remote extensions and if somebody can help me I´ll appreciate a lot.
I´ve installed the 3CX iPhone app (iPhone 3GS, iOS4.3.2, no jailbreaks) and configured an extension thru our 3CX server.
When the iPhone is connected in the LAN thru WiFi connection, the extension makes and receive calls normally.
When I turn the WiFi connection off (using the 3G network) to connect the server, everything looks fine. The app connects to the 3CX server as usual.
When an extension logged in the LAN calls the iPhone extension, the iPhone receives the call and rings normally.
But when I try to make a call from the iPhone (thru 3G network) to another extension, the call is not completed.
I´ve saw the server log and I´m copying the log as follows:

Our FQDN (read in the log as "sip.nakanetworks.com") is a dynamic DNS service pointing to our physical server.
What I´m doing wrong ?
Hope hear from you very soon.

Best regards

Do you have sip.nakanetworks.com , datafilled as the domain name in 3CX?

As I´m new and I don´t have so many experience with 3CX, can you tell me how can I check this information ?
I think I have registered the FQDN sip.nakanetworks.com in 3CX system.

Got the same problem here.

In 3CX, left hand column, Settings/Advanced...Local SIP Domain. Put your domain name, or the URL if you use a dynamic DNS service. Then 3CX knows to accept calls to that address.

Dear leejor,
Simply PERFECT !!!!!
As I registered the FQDN in the field that you told me, the iPhone app could make and receive calls from the 3G networks inbound to LAN.

Simply the best answer !
Thanks so much for your help !

Maybe you can help me with another issue.
Our Voicemail system are not working so fine. When a call is not answered, the system plays a message telling that "The call could not be completed..."
How can I fix this problem.
Also when I dial the voicemail extension, in our case 99999, the same message plays.

Thanks for your help.

Five digit extensions? Post (or have a look at) the 3CX server log to see what is happening to the calls.

Problems with the Voicemail Service

Yes, we´re using 5 digit extension numbers. As we are a school, each student has an extension assigned to their ID numbers.
And our Voicemail service are assigned to extension 99999
I´ve looked at the "System Extension Status" node and I could see the following status:

(GREEN) Registered(idle) *0 Park Extension
(GREEN) Registered(idle) *1 Park Extension
(GREEN) Registered(idle) *777 Echo Test
(GREEN) Registered(idle) 99999 SpecialMenu
All other Conference and Shared Parked extensions are (RED) because we´re using the free version of 3CX.

In the "Server Event Log" node, I could finf a line that says that the extension 99999 are logged into the system as follows:

Extension 99999 is registered, contact: sip:[email protected]:40600;rinstance=08fcdc4898bfdf45

In the "Server Activity Log" I found the following log to a call from an ordinary extension to the Voicemail extension:

01:24:56.755 [CM503008]: Call(15): Call is terminated
01:24:49.156 [CM503007]: Call(15): Device joined: sip:[email protected]:40600;rinstance=08fcdc4898bfdf45
01:24:49.148 [CM503007]: Call(15): Device joined: sip:[email protected]:5060;transport=TCP
01:24:49.116 [CM505001]: Ext.99999: Device info: Device Identified: [Man: 3CX Ltd.;Mod: Voice Mail Menu;Rev: 1] Capabilities:[reinvite, replaces, able-no-sdp, recvonly] UserAgent: [3CX Voice Mail Menu] PBX contact: [sip:[email protected]:5060]
01:24:49.115 [CM503002]: Call(15): Alerting sip:[email protected]:40600;rinstance=08fcdc4898bfdf45
01:24:48.968 [CM503025]: Call(15): Calling Ext:Ext.99999@[Dev:sip:[email protected]:40600;rinstance=08fcdc4898bfdf45]
01:24:48.930 [CM503004]: Call(15): Route 1: Ext:Ext.99999@[Dev:sip:[email protected]:40600;rinstance=08fcdc4898bfdf45]
01:24:48.926 [CM503010]: Making route(s) to <sip:[email protected]>
01:24:48.919 [CM505001]: Ext.10000: Device info: Device Not Identified: User Agent not matched; Capabilities:[reinvite, replaces, able-no-sdp, recvonly] UserAgent: [3CXPhone for iPhone 1.0.23] PBX contact: [sip:[email protected]:5060;transport=TCP]
01:24:48.910 [CM503001]: Call(15): Incoming call from Ext.10000 to <sip:[email protected]>

When we use the system extensions, for example, dialing *777, the Echo Test call can be completed without any problems, but when we dial 99999 to access the Voicemail, we hear a message like "This call cannot be completed. Please try again later. We apologize".

What can be wrong this time ?
Best regards
Eduardo Nakagawa

I'm wondering if there is a service, or audio "requirement" that is absent on that particular PC. What operating system are you running?

We´re running this 3CX Phone System on Windows 7 Ultimate Edition (Original) SP 1
