We installed the 3CX Pbx phone system, then we opened the specified ports TCP/UDP (5060, 3478) and UDP (5004, 5005, 9000-9003, 5482), but we can not hear any voice through the gizmo network and the firewall alert flash.

Server status log:
MediaServerReporting::RTPReceiver [MS105000] Call(97) Ln:10000@Gizmo Project: No RTP packets were received on 0000009C@:remoteAddr=198.65.166.130:1750,extAddr=80.32.71.167:63268,localAddr=0.0.0.0:9000

Can you help me?

try binding the extension to the media server, also if not located inside your subnet, you must check the extension is external box.

For any missing ports see this topic:

Is there one-way audio or there is no audio in both directions?

There is no audio in both directions

SY, there is no audio in both directions.

Thanks.

Dakhalli, thank you, but we still have the problem.

try clearing the log file, place a call all the way let it be without audio for bout 30 seconds, then hang up

and then post the complete log of that one phonecall, hide the last 3 digits of the ipadresses for security reasons.

This way we can see wether all ipadresses are resolved and or any other problems arise.

This is my log file

Thank you for your help. We had a problem with the NAT (firewall) and we solved it by installing the Pbx phone system outside the network

Like this you have no firewall security!! If you worked fine by putting the PBX outside the network, it is clear that you have to play around opening ports and permissions on the firewall side and you will work.

It is nice to hear that problem is solved!

Could you please specify NAT device that produced problems and topology of network where problems were found? Which kind of problems you detected in device?

Thanks,
Stepan

NAT

The problem was that our 3CX phone system must cross another NAT based on Windows 2003 Server.

If we open all ports in the firewall, there is no sound, because something was happen with the NAT and Remote Access routing of W2003.

On the other side, if we install 3CX Phone System outside the computer network (and W2003 NAT), we isolate the traffic for VoIP and data just working with the windows firewall despite hardware firewall.

There are another reasons we have several doubts, because opening the documented ports in the firewall, doesn't work as expected, seems like Phone System requires using another ports in range 64000..64400 as we can see in the Phone System log. So we don't know how many ports must be opened in the firewall, in other words, if we need open all the ports in the firewall, doesn't make sense install any firewall and we have in mind that nobody knows exactly what ports are needed for the system works .

Phone system manages port opening only on local host and uses exact range as specified in configuration. NAT device can map connection to any external ports. Your NAT for some reasons used ports 64000..64400 for mapping PBXhost:9000-9003 to external external address. It will be good to understand why did it happen...

Thanks for information
