I recently setup a failover server and it seems that when the passive server goes from passive to active, the IP phones will not re-provision with the FQDN. It will provision just fine with the IP of the original active server, but not the FQDN. It seems to be an issue with only the IP phones, as I can connect with clients and mobile apps just fine. Help?

Hello @HowardMaxfield241

Do you have a local DNS pointing the FQDN to the local IP of the server? Does it resolve correctly? If your provisioning interface is set to your FQDN (which you need for failover) then you need to a local DNS to point that FQDN to the correct local IP.

You will also need a script to switch that DNS entry to the failover local IP so once the failover occurs so the phones can provision to the new ip address.

Clients will most likely fail to connect to the local IP and then connect externally through the tunnel.
