Hi, Guys

So this time I am trying to auto-provision a Yealink T21. My 3CX is hosted. I have a 3CX SBC that is ready and I configured it correctly. How do I provision my extension remotely on this phone from a remote location? I pasted the provisioning URL and confirming changes on the phone and still no luck? Is there something I'm missing?

The phone displays registration failed every time I try to manually set it up. Looking forward to your responses.

Kind Regards

When using an SBC the easiest way to provision supported phones to to factory reset them and then wait for the to show up in the Phones tab of the console. The phone and SBC need to be on the same LAN for this to work. After a few minutes they will show up as New - simply assign them to an existing extension or add new. You may need to manually update the phone firmware first - see the link below.

However, if you have the old T21P then it will not trust the default 3CX provided SSL certificate and you will need to login to the T21P and disable “Only accept trusted certificate”. Do do this login to the Yealink desk phone management page—go to Security—Trusted Certificates—disable “Only Accept Trusted Certificates”—save the changes and reboot the phone.

See https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/yealink-t20p-t22p-t26p-t28p/ for more info about the Yealink T2x series phones, how to manually update the firmware to a 3CX supported version, and the limitations of the older legacy models.

Hi, @accentlogic

It seems like the SBC is on a different network, however, I managed to configure the phone manually adding the user extension details. This is good enough for me, I am yet to test how the phone will operate during this upcoming week.

I hope no one-way audio issues will arise. Thanks for your assistance.

If you notice any audio issues set the extension to PBX Delivers Audio. This may help. Glad the manual configuration worked out for you.

Here is what I have done:

Change the registration name to extension number,
Change the password
Disable reg outside of LAN then register using default settings,
Copy and paste the username and pass,
Whitelist the IP on the 3cx.
Changed the phone password to the provisioning password. (No hacking my phone lol)

@accentlogic thanks so much for that i never knew, now i do :)
