I see it isn't in the official supported hypervisors list.

Are there any known issues with using Proxmox as the hypervisor for a hosted 3CX environment?

3CX is only supported in Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare

It does not mean that it will not work with other applications - Proxmox, VirtualBox but you will not be supported by 3CX of any issues.

I'm running 3CX SBC in Proxmox (as lxc, not as a vm) without any issues. I haven't had the time to try 3CX PBX, but I guess it should work too.

That is incorrect. 3CX is also supported

That is incorrect. VMWare is also supported and has been for four years: https://www.3cx.com/blog/news/vmware-ready/

I would assume it would work as a VM. Debating between doing it on Proxmox anyway or staying with VMWare.

Meaning I wouldn't get support for *ANY* 3CX issues or just ones where the hypervisor may be at fault.

BTW: Proxmox is a UI for LXC and KVM. As KVM is a supported platform, I'd expect it'd work well.

I concur, both of those URLs (for installing on Windows or Linux) mention KVM as a supported platform. Since Proxmox VE can do KVM machines I would hope 3CX would not turn their back on these users.

I can't think why LXC would be an issue though as 3CX doesn't modify the kernel in any way.

p.s. If you have any issues running 3CX on Proxmox VE then there is a channel I run on the freenode IRC network called ##proxmox where a bunch of us talk, I also run ##3cx too and there is some overlap between the users using both.

*nods* When running dozens or hundreds of PBXes on a given machine (or cluster of machines), you look for ways to reduce waste.

Running 3cx 15.5 on Proxmox with 600+ extensions with hotel module last 6 months, there is no any problem...

KVM or LXC?
