PSTN (analogue Phone line) into s3x ???

Is it possible to plug a analogue phone line into 3cx pbx i have setup on a raspberry pi ? I like the features of 3cx and would like to use it with my normal phone line. What device would achieve this and would scx software configure correctly ? i will setup VOIP one day on it but would like the redundancy of the old phone line so wanting that to stay in place for now

You would have to use an Analogue Telephone Line Gateway (FXS) . There are a number of smaller (single line) 3CX supported models.

You could make use of an non-supported make/model ( prefer the now discontinued Linksys SPA-3102), but, you would have to get it working without support from 3CX. If you decide to go that route, I can probably help you get it working. They can still be found on-line.

The topology i want is above
1 old analogue phone line coming into property, i would like this line to go into the pbx and for the pbx to then divert the call to whichever option the caller picks from the voice menu setup on the bpx . I have ordered the HT814 but i dont think this will do above as can only see 4 FX ports for the analogue phones not for the main phone line . Can you advise please ?

It must be an FXO device (connects to PSTN phone line). Some smaller ones have both FXS and FXO ports unfortunately 3CX no longer supports them, so you are on your own, or have to purchase a 4 port device, which is a bit of over-kill..

Routing an analogue phone line to different phones in the PBX can be done in a few ways. The trunks can route to a Digital receptionist to allow the caller to make a selection, you can direct calls based on caller ID, or you could route to a ring group which has most sets as members, allowing anyone to answer an incoming call.

If you insist on using the PSTN line, then i would suggest trying to find someone selling an SPA-3102, or the older SPA-3000

As I said previously, they were discontinued by Cisco a few years ago, but used ones pop up on Craigslist, and other places, once in a while. Just be certain that it is unlocked. Should be under $100, more like $50 to $75.

I've posted a number of times, on the forum, about configuring one manually, which is what you'd have to do.
